A live art event to bring art and sport together
In October 2021 Wonderstuff organised G H O S T S; a live art event to raise funds for Anxious Minds Charity.
Each skateboard ghost was brought to life by an artist through their own style to create a vibrant set of artworks. These were then auctioned online.
A Collaborative Art Project to raise funds to support Anxious Minds.
Paul Alderson, founder of Wonderstuff, created a collaborative live art event to bring together artists to support a local mental health charity, raising over £800 for the charity.
G H O S T S took place on Thursday 28th October from 6pm-9pm at Flintlab Coworking Space in Newcastle upon Tyne and featured some of the North Easts most exciting artists working alongside the creative team from Wonderstuff. In front of a live audience they brought skateboard ‘ghosts’ back to life through their own creative styles to create a set of vibrant artworks that were auctioned to raise money for charity.
The live art event saw the artists working in the coworking spaces large open spaces with visitors, families, and supporters being able to watch the artwork being created, and start the bidding..
Paul Alderson said “I want to move art into the forefront of peoples minds, to let people see artists at work to truly appreciate their talents. To do this and support a local charity means a lot to me. While the last 18 months have been a challenge for me, my family, and my businesses, I know that there are many people who have not been as fortunate.”

Paul Alderson, Wonderstuff’s founder, has exhibited work in galleries and events in Belfast, Newcastle, and London.

Bidding closes at 9pm on Thursday 4th November 2021.

Bidding Terms. You can bid as many times as you like while the bidding is open. When bidding closes we will then email you to confirm you’ve won your board and payment will be required within 48hrs of notification. Any bids not paid within 48hrs of notification will be considered void and we’ll pass the board to the next highest bidder. Once payment is complete boards can be collected from Flintlab, or you can arrange collection via courier and we’ll pack your board up for you to be shipped.
