Galedin Veterinary is the product of the merger at the beginning of 2015 between two long-established veterinary practices, RentonSwan Vets and Merlin Veterinary Group.

In early 2014 the two companies approached us for support and we were appointed to carry out a strategic re-brand of the two practices. The merger between RentonSwan Vets and Merlin Veterinary Group was successfully completed on the 1st of February, 2015 and Galedin Veterinary is now the largest independent mixed practice in the Scottish Borders, with over eighty staff, working across six branches in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Coldstream, Duns, Eyemouth, Galashiels and Kelso.

Why ‘Galedin’? The new business can trace its origins back to 1813, right at the beginning of the veterinary industry in the UK. The name reflects this and is taken from the name of the first recorded vet in history, Urlugaledinna in Mesopotamia, some 5,000 years ago.

How do you pronounce it? Depends on who you ask! But generally, we pronounce it “Gah-Ledd-Inn”.
