Celebrating Fifteen Years Of moving brands forward
Celebrating Fifteen Years
Blog
Here we are again…

…the end of December and 2013.

We’ve had one heck of a year — working with a whole host of clients on a wide variety of projects — so it’s hard to pick our highlights, but we’ll give it a go:

The recently launched new website for Living North has been a memorable project for us and its really great to see it out in the real world at last. Our design has had a real impact on their business, allowing them to expand from just a monthly printed magazine to an almost infinite online resource.

Lane7 was a great project for us and the brand we developed for the venue has really come to life becoming a key part of the business. Most importantly though the venue has been a huge success receiving rave reviews in print and online.

Our work for the newly renamed Northern Design Festival also sticks in the mind, producing an unusual brochure and programme for the festival ideal for their target audience. In addition to this we also got the chance to exhibit in the festival ourselves, working in collaboration with Matt Pearson to produce a one-off generative digital art piece, Generating Followers.

Speaking of the Northern Design Festival, this year also saw us picking up our first award for our concrete BK Ends, awarded to us at the Design Event MART (part of the festival).

The Big Reveal

We’ve mentioned before that we’re welcoming a new member to the Wonderstuff team in the new year and now seems as good a time as any to reveal their identity.

Having worked at world renowned agency FutureBrand for 2 years and then run his own studio for 6 years, Mark Pattinson brings a wealth of experience to the team. As a Senior Creative Mark will be involved in all aspects of the studio and we’re sure all of you will cross paths with him over the coming weeks, months and years.

Mark starts with us on January 2nd and with a variety of projects already lined up for then, will be straight in at the deep end. We can’t wait.

We’re On The Telly (again)…

Some of you will remember that just over a year ago that two of our team, Paul and Merlin, were asked by Channel 4 to help with an episode of The Secret Millions. Merlin must have sent ratings soaring because Channel 4 were on the phone again the other week requesting his help with another show.

Our Creative Wizard likes to do a bit of running and after a successful year of it, C4 invited him to race in the Mens Health Survival of the Fittest London. Our hearts swelling with pride, we made him some ham sandwiches and bundled him off to the capital for a hard 10km of running, jumping, scrambling, crawling, slipping and climbing around the soon to be redeveloped Battersea Power Station. Long story short, our Wizard finished in 39th position in a time of 41:33 — not the top 10 finish he was hoping for but not bad out of a field of nearly 12,000.

Festive Frolics

As you all know, its that time of year again when we all take a well-deserved break for Christmas and get ready to leap into the new year.

The studio is closed from Tuesday 24th December and will re-open on Thursday 2nd January. Of course if you need anything before then just give us a call on 0191 447 2727.

We’ll see you on the other side.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year
